Gold gilt framed mirrors and other mirrors

We found a few of these mirrors at our favorite spots while seeking other pieces.

Large two-part gilt mirror that is eventually going in our front hallway. These mirrors were very popular during the Federal era and many were made. Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York were where many of these were made. This one is in the Sheraton to Empire transitional style and dates to the early to mid 1820s.

Another Sheraton to Empire transitional two-part gilt mirror. This one has a beautiful hand-carved scallop shell in the center of the top. Circa 1825.

A narrow Sheraton to Empire transitional mirror with a mahogany finish. Not as ornate as the other two, but it dates to around the same period (1820s). This piece will eventually grace the wall of the third floor hallway.

Two smaller gilt mirrors in empire style circa 1830.

Check back for future updates.
